Scorched Earth "Transformation" Plan

Submitted by lmcshane on Fri, 04/08/2011 - 11:53.

This might explain the recent melt-down witnessed at REALNEO--the ex-poster is an employee of CSU and no doubt benefits from this wonderful CSU perk:

Hard to believe that Norm Roulet introduced the concept of accountability and social media to Northeast Ohio--almost ten years, ago.

Since then, Facebook, Twitter and other network sites have broken down the Establishment's Rules of Engagement

PREVENT Bird Window Collisions

Submitted by lmcshane on Tue, 04/05/2011 - 20:09.

Sadly, today, a Downy Woodpecker collided with the sheet glass windows of a building in our neighborhood.  It's a sickening event to endure.  The thud and then the bird laying in pain on the grass.  It died from the massive trauma.  Migration is occurring now.  Please take time to reduce this problem by making your window surfaces less confusing to migrating and breeding birds.

American Indian Center protests Chief Wahoo
It pains me to see any one who feels disenfranchised and marginalized in our society--if it offends any one--why can't we remove it?  It especially saddens me, because I love baseball--and a lot of US love baseball.

BAC Home Loans Servicing

Submitted by lmcshane on Mon, 03/28/2011 - 20:17.

I receive numerous "tips" in my email--this one is especially disturbing:

This Bac [Home Loans] - foreign corp owns 1550 properties in Cuyahoga County alone.

Check the Auditors site:  http://fiscalofficer.cuyahogacounty.us/en-US/REPI.aspx

Not sure on the exact numbers, but can any one shed light on this investment scheme in NEO?

Did BAC Home Loans assume Countrywide subprime foreclosures?

REALNEO Discovery

Time for spring cleaning and accepting the fact that finding a new nest
is not as easy as we fantasize it can be.

If the water is polluted, a fish must still swim. Upstream.

Posting to REALNEO

Submitted by lmcshane on Sun, 03/20/2011 - 17:31.

Dear Norm and Jeff--in the scope of things--you are the dualing forces here at REALNEO.

Despite your bickering, we need options at this site that will improve the ability to post materials, without one individual, group or other monopolizing the content.

FREE Speech

Don't like what you see posted at REALNEO?  Don't read it.  Ignore it. Don't comment on it. Let it die.

Don't form a lynch mob to remove the content--that in itself--defies the notion of FREE
Speech.  Post better content.  Post your images.

(Admin-I would like to see the option to post blog entries with comments disabled--thanks for the lunacy explanation)

Murray Hill Market

Submitted by lmcshane on Fri, 03/18/2011 - 16:33.

Here are some images taken today at the Murray Hill Market in Little Italy.  Open for less than 7 weeks, it has already developed a following.

Support this family with deep NEO roots, and enjoy sightseeing with your family on a sunny day.  Freshwater Cleveland provided a great promotion last week.

Sadly, a another child has disappeared in NEO--and an AMBER alert is not warranted, because the girl has been deemed a runaway. If you can help with any information, please call Cleveland Police at 911.

SAVING History

Submitted by lmcshane on Thu, 03/03/2011 - 20:56.

Today, you see the UGLY right out there for what it is--the real estate game in NEO--LAND cleared and history demolished at tax-payer expense for GREED.

And, you can SEE for yourself--another example of the massive FRAUD perpetrated in the NEO non-profit sector.

Broken fire hydrant at Pearl and Denison 500 yards from school
A walk around the neighborhood today revealed an infrastructure in shambles.

President Obama--we need a Civilian Conservation Corp.  We need to fix America.  We are squandering precious natural resources and our future.  This fire hydrant is less than 500 yards away from a school on Denison Ave. and less than a block away from Cleveland Fire Station #20 at Archwood and SR 42/Pearl Rd..

Rising above Mediocrity

Submitted by lmcshane on Sun, 02/20/2011 - 12:41.

Yesterday, I met a young architect in the city, who is trying to determine the zeitgeist of NEO.

I am not sure that I can help him at all with his quest--but the timing of today's article in the Plain Dealer did take my breath away.

I know some of the artists quoted in the article--not all of them very well, but I do know all by reputation.  And, in the article Julian Stanczak sums it up best:

My Great Aunt Wee (Marie) came to mind today.  She was a tough lady. Irish married to a Scottish man named French.  I always felt that I had been favored in her mind's eye, but as I grew older, it became apparent that I did not meet the Irish standard.  I was the fair child.  The eldest and most apparently "Irish" of our clan.  Red hair and blue eyes...I grew less Irish as I matured. There was always the spectre of the darker child.

Question of the DAY? How many community development organizations does a "dying" city need?

This is exactly where the discussion in NEO needs to go--

How many community development organizations does a "dying" city need?

Walking on the moon

Submitted by lmcshane on Sun, 02/06/2011 - 20:11.

There are two classes in Cleveland--those with cars and those who walk and ride public transit.  For those who walk--it's like being on the moon and looking at another universe far, far away.
