COLOR THERAPY IN THE HOOD

Submitted by Jeff Buster on Sun, 02/17/2008 - 18:47.

Splashing up such colorful and lusty images has to be therapeutic for the artist.  Right on the edge of an urban dumping ground, full of scrap tires and trash, here's this little fellow sitting comfortably with his leg on the ledge (complete with scrap tire and vines) waving at the buxom gal below.

DESPERATION = CLEVELAND’S URBAN PLANNING STRATEGY

Submitted by Jeff Buster on Sat, 02/16/2008 - 10:50.

On February 11 the Dirty Dealer editorial page endorsed the prospect of the Eaton Corporation installing itself in a "campus" in the RTA waterfront line "loop" location depicted in the photo above, ie. on the north-east bank of the Cuyahoga and on the Lake  Erie side of the CSX tracks.

The DD castigated Mr. Wasserman:

"Adam Wasserman, the ambitious man who has headed the Port Authority for a little more than a year, has not been helpful enough so far."

FROZEN PIPES BREAKING ALL OVER NORTH EAST OHIO

Submitted by Jeff Buster on Thu, 02/07/2008 - 16:05.
When you don't have the money to keep the heat on, and it gets cold, the pipes freeze.

And break.

Then when it warms up like it did over the past two days, the pipes thaw out.

And water floods everything.

And when the building is filled up, the water pours out under the doors and into the street - just like it is doing at Sweet Daddy's.

The best possible economic return for wind power - or any alternative power - is achieved by on-site consumption of the power produced.

COFFEE RUN - PORT COLBURNE IN LATE JANUARY

Submitted by Jeff Buster on Mon, 01/28/2008 - 23:00.

Having worked in the construction business for years, I got so I could tell when a Diesel was rev'd a little too high.

So here I was on the Welland Canal in late January asking - was it the ice breaking that was forcing the revs? - or was it time for a coffee break?

It was the Tim  Horton's  coffee!

SAFETY NET - LUMINOUS VEIL OF AL BIRNEY

Submitted by Jeff Buster on Fri, 01/25/2008 - 12:44.

After posting this morning, I had more thoughts about the nobility of the suicide-prevention fence.   I knew I should go back and visit it more closely because when I saw the bridge before I was with someone who was driving so I couldn’t stop.

SAFETY NET - FOR J. MURRAY

Submitted by Jeff Buster on Fri, 01/25/2008 - 09:43.

A recent response by J. Murray, an energetic contributor to Brewed Fresh Daily - struck me as fatalistic, inhumane, insensitive, and blindly lacking in informed self-interest.   Reading J large, helping our neighbor is to interfere with the inevitable, efficient, scientific cycle of capitalism.   I don’t believe that J’s “Man” is slave to any economic model - provided he  thinks and acts.
