COUNCILMAN MARTIN J. SWEENEY REACTS, WITH A LAUGH, TO NAMING NEW SCHOOL, IN CLEVELAND, AS THE MARTIN J. SWEENEY HIGH SCHOOL!Submitted by Satinder P S Puri on Wed, 03/13/2013 - 17:13.
COUNCILMAN MARTIN J. SWEENEY, ALSO CITY COUNCIL PRESIDENT, HAD A LAUGH READING ABOUT THE SUGGESTION TO NAME THE NEW SCHOOL, REPLACING THE DESTROYED JOHN MARSHALL, AS THE MARTIN J. SWEENEY HIGH SCHOOL! THE SUGGESTED NAME FOR THE NEW WAREHOUSE REPLACING THE DESTROYED HISTORIC 81-YEAR OLD JOHN MARSHALL HIGH SCHOOL IS FAST BECOMING PART OF CLEVELAND’S LEXICON! Councilman Sweeney was reading the first page of a 2-page flyer distributed by the SAVE JOHN MARSHALL campaign at the February 21, 2013 Community Meeting held at Carl F. Shuler High School to discuss architectural plans for the new school – which looks like a jazzed up warehouse. This is how the first two paragraphs of the flyer read: HISTORIC 81-YEAR OLD JOHN MARSHALL HIGH SCHOOL: NEW SCHOOL: NOTE: FOR ADDITIONAL INFORMATION, PLEASE SEE THE FOLLOWING POST: MARTIN J. SWEENEY HIGH SCHOOL – SUGGESTED NAME FOR THE NEW WAREHOUSE REPLACING DESTROYED JOHN MARSHALL HS IN CLEVELAND, VER. 1
